The Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions (SALAR)

The Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions represents the governmental, professional and employer-related interests of Sweden’s 290 municipalities, 18 county councils and two regions (Västra Götaland and Skåne).

The Association strives to promote and strengthen local self-government and the development of regional and local democracy. The operations of the Association are financed by the fees paid annually by members according to their tax base.
